Anna Hurova

Anna Hurova holds a doctorate in law. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the environmental aspects of the legal protection of near-Earth outer space, in particular the issue of space debris and its implications for the safety and sustainability of space activities.

Her research focuses mainly on the legal foundations of the long-term sustainability of space activities, cybersecurity in space, the exploitation of space resources, and the development of systemic approaches to space governance, including modeling and interdisciplinary analysis tools.

As part of the Space Chair, her work focuses on a comparative analysis of regulatory frameworks for space debris management and the development of recommendations to strengthen the integration of sustainability principles, thereby contributing scientifically and operationally to the international debate on sustainable space governance. Anna Hurova is a member of the International Institute of Space Law (IISL). She is also Ukraine’s national representative on the UN COPUOS Action Team on Lunar Activities Consultation (ATLAC).
