Two post doc join the Space Chair

The recruitment campaign, which ran from April to June, attracted a large number of profiles, most of which were multidisciplinary. Candidates came from philosophy, history, political science, sociology, STS, law and international relations.

Space was a new subject of study for the majority of applicants, in line with the Space Chair’s mission to develop new fields of study related to space in the humanities and social sciences.

From the start of the 2024 academic year, two female researchers will hold post-doctoral positions for the next two years:

Fanny Valeyre defended her thesis in philosophy in 2022. Before being recruited by the Espace Chair, she was a scientific assistant at Fribourg. Her project, which focuses on Axis 1 (the uses and representations of Space through the ages), proposes to develop ‘a spatial techno-aesthetic’.

Camille Ternier defended her thesis in political philosophy in 2019. Until the summer of 2024, she was a post-doc researcher at Science Po. Her project relates to Axis 2 (how to reconcile Space as a common good and as a sovereignty issue) and will address the following question: ‘What is a fair distribution of space resources? Contemporary controversies and political theories of ownership’.

Further recruitment will take place in the coming months. We invite you to visit our website regularly to keep up to date with our calls for applications.
